COLCHESTER FRINGE FESTIVAL
20 - 23 October 2022
The Colchester Fringe Festival was established in 2019, but the first festival was brought to life from Thursday 21 - Sun 24 October 2021, and on 1 May 2021 with the Shop Window Takeover event.
CFF took over theatres, shops, pubs, and nightclubs across the city centre, and filled them with a huge array of performances including comedy, dance, cabaret, musical theatre and more, featuring local emerging artists from in and around Colchester as well as acts and artists from across the UK and overseas.

As general manager of an emerging festival, with a small team, Ellen Burgin is involved in everything from programming and artist liaising to volunteer management, fundraising and long-term festival strategy, box office and ticket sales, marketing and branding, and ensuring everyone involved in the festival is operating in a covid safe, responsible way, while helping to problem solve and trouble shoot. In the 2021 festival delivery Ellen also focused on making the festival happen so the festival co-directors could manage and liaise major stakeholders, see all of the shows and curate artist awards, and seeing their vision come to life.
We are currently in planning for what shape the 2022 festival will be and have announced dates and begun programming the artists and venues for this year’s festival.
